An overview of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant
On the evening of 27th May 2022, IEEE ULAB Student Branch in collaboration with IEEE Computer Society ULAB Student Branch Chapter organized a webinar called “An Overview of Rooppur Nuclear Powerplant”. The event was held online via Google meet. About 22 people were present at the event. The speaker of the event was Mr. Ramit Kumar Sadhukhan, an honorable lecturer from the department of EEE, ULAB. The event was open to all IEEE members
Mr. Ramit Kumar Sadhukhan received his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2018. After that, during the 2018–2019 academic year, he worked as a Lecturer (Part-time) in the Department of Textile Machinery Design and Maintenance (TMDM) at the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), Tejgaon Industrial Area, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He then finished his M.Sc. in Nuclear Power Engineering and Thermal Physics at the Obninsk Institute for Nuclear Power Engineering “National Research Nuclear University” “MEPhI” (IATE NRNU MEPhI), Russian Federation (2021), with financial assistance from the governments of Bangladesh and Russia. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, ULAB.
The program started at around 8:00 pm (UTC). The host started the program by greeting everyone and introducing the speaker to the participants. Mr. Ramit started the program by giving a brief introduction to the Rooppur Power Plant. After finishing the introduction he started discussing the technical stuff of the power plant. Throughout the seminar, he communicated with the participants. At around 9:10 pm (UTC) he finished his session and started taking questions from the participants. The participants asked many questions, and the speaker cleared every question in detail with immense patience. At around 9:25 pm (UTC) the event was closed by the host.
