Career on Robotics

September 1, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

IEEE ULAB Student Branch and IEEE ULAB Robotics and Automation Society Student Branch Chapter are jointly organizing Career on Robotics on 1 September 2022. The seminar will start at 2 PM at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh permeant campus, PB106.

The speaker of the seminar is Assistant Prof. Muhammad Abul Hasan, Ph.D. Dr. Hasan is a dedicated teacher who pursues lifelong learning. Since June 2019, he has been employed by ULAB, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. He has a long history of tertiary-level teaching and has worked as a teacher both domestically and overseas He began his teaching career as a lecturer at International Islamic University Chittagong after his bachelor’s degree from East West University in 2003. After four years of rewarding teaching, he relocated to South Korea to attend KAIST for his master’s in science. He began his career as a research engineer after graduating before moving to Australia to enroll in the University of Technology Sydney’s doctoral program (UTS). He has had a few postdoctoral research positions at the University of South Australia and KAIST. His areas of interest include computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision applications.

The vast majority of respondents to the 2014 Future of the Internet canvassing anticipate that robotics and artificial intelligence will permeate wide segments of daily life by 2025, with huge implications for a range of industries such as health care, transport and logistics, customer service, and home maintenance. But even as they are largely consistent in their predictions for the evolution of technology itself, they are deeply divided on how advances in AI and robotics will impact the economic and employment picture over the next decade. The first phase will be done through software and the second phase will be conducted later.

Anyone can join the seminar. The event is open to all ULABians. The registration fee for non-ULABians is 200 BDT.
