Membership Development Week Spring 22 - report
Membership Development week is one of the most important events for the IEEE ULAB Student Branch. It is held multiple times throughout the year and it is the time when IEEE ULAB Student Branch opens its door of becoming an IEEE member to the students of ULAB. It is also the time when existing members renew their expired or soon to be expired membership.
Membership Development Week Spring 22 started on 21st March 2022 and went on until 29th March 2022. The timing of the booth was 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 BST (UTC+6). IEEE Volunteers took their turn to sit in the booth and attract new students to become a member of IEEE. X banners, flags and other goodies were set up on the booth to catch the attention of the students. Daily reminders and updates were posted on the social media accounts so the students can come to the booth and figure out whether they want to become a member or not.
During Membership Development Week Spring 22, IEEE ULAB Student Branch got a big response from the students of ULAB. They came to the booth asking for more information and what benefits they will get if they become an IEEE member.
In the Membership development week of the Spring Session, 13 ULABian became new IEEE Student Members; and 6 ULABians renewed their IEEE Student Membership through IEEE ULAB Student Branch. 7 students among 19 IEEE members(new & renew) took IEEE Computer Society membership and 1 student took Robotics & Automation Society membership. IEEE ULAB Student Branch Chairperson (2022-23), Kaniz Fatema Antora, cooperated with the team in the payment transaction process.
The number of new members and existing members who renewed their accounts is given below
The student gave an excellent response to this initiative. The booth was full every day and the interaction between the current student members and the students who want to become a new part of this journey was incredible. A lot of existing members took this chance and renewed their existing membership to elongate their journey with IEEE.
