Version Control System - The What, Why & How
On July 26, 2022, IEEE ULAB Student Branch organized a 2-day workshop called “Version Control System – The What, Why & How”. The main purpose of the workshop is to train the participants on how to use version control systems efficiently while doing their projects. The event was circulated throughout the social media platform. The venue of the event was google meet and 18 people registered for the event.
The speaker of the event was Shakil Shareef. Shakil Shareef is a self-taught programmer who enjoys exploring different fields of computer science and engineering. He has been working with machine learning, web technologies, and app development in some of the international companies in Singapore, Dubai, and the middle east.
The event started on 26th July 2022 at 8:30 pm. The outline of the event was already published on social media and the invitation emails. The response on day 1 was tremendous and the speaker closed the event at about 9:40 pm.
On the second day, the speaker started from where he left the last day. He followed the outline he proposed. The teachings of day 2 were Git basic commands & demonstration, Commits, Branches, Issues, Pull Request / Merge Request, and other tips and tricks to enhance the user experience. The second session of the event started at 8:30 pm on 28th July 2022 and ended at 9:45 pm that afternoon. Then he thanked all the participants for their active participation and closed the session.
